About Me

Hello! I’m Pariskrit Paudel, a dedicated advocate for human rights and social justice, currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Human Rights and Social Justice at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, Canada.
Before joining TRU, I spent over seven years working in Nepal’s social and human rights sectors, collaborating with organizations like INSEC, Oxfam, and Community Welfare Initiatives. Through these roles, I’ve led advocacy campaigns, coordinated multi-stakeholder projects, and trained grassroots human rights defenders on issues such as gender-based violence, freedom of expression, and access to justice. These experiences deepened my belief that meaningful change happens when communities are empowered and heard.
At TRU, I continue to nurture this commitment through active student leadership and community engagement. I currently serve as the President of the TRUSU Human Rights and Social Justice Club, where we create a conducive environment that fosters critical discussions on global and local human rights issues. I also served as a Student Caucus Member (2024–25) at Thompson Rivers University Student Union (TRUSU), advocating for student perspectives in academic decision-making. Along with that, I also support TRUSU Nepali Society as Event Manager, helping to organize cultural and educational events that support the Nepali community with diverse backgrounds and identities.
My academic and professional paths both reflect a shared vision — promotion of human rights and social justice and advocacy for marginalized communities. I bring a strong foundation in program management, advocacy, and research, shaped by both grassroots activism and academic inquiry.
Outside of work and studies, I enjoy travelling, cooking, learning about Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain, and supporting communities in need. This e-portfolio is a reflection of my journey — a space where I share my learning, experiences, and ongoing dedication to building a more just and compassionate world.
